EUR1 Movement Certificate - Preference Document

The EU has preferential trading agreements with certain countries which enable importers in those countries to import goods at a lower rate of import duty, known as importing under "preference".

You can produce your EUR1 Certificates in e-z Cert, but there are certain counties which will not accept electronic signatures and so for those countries you will need to use the Standard Service.

Countries who will not accept electronic signatures are:

  • Croatia
  • Egypt
  • Iceland
  • Israel
  • Lebanon
  • Liechtenstein
  • Mexico
  • Norway
  • Serbia
  • Switzerland

In the unlikely event that you need to apply for an EUR1 and an EC Certificate of Origin for the same movement, and where a non-originating statement is required on the EUR1 ('Goods marked *** are non-originating and are not covered by this EUR1'), then you must make separate applications for the two separate documents in e-z Cert.

If you are unsure about this, ask your Chamber.
